Changelog
Every release of Snippet Sense and Link Sense. Updates are free for life with your licence.
Brand Rules
New
New Brand Rules tab: site-wide brand voice, English variant (British or American), banned words and phrases, brand terms with exact capitalisation, and extra instructions for each post type.
New
Rules are added to every generation prompt — post meta, taxonomy meta, TLDR and FAQ. Alt text gets the spelling, brand-term and banned-phrase rules only.
New
Optional title suffix added to every SEO title Snippet Sense saves, including bulk runs, auto-generate and AI agents. It's never added twice, titles using SEO plugin variables (e.g. %%sitename%%) are skipped, and the AI gets a shorter title limit to leave room for it.
New
If generated meta contains a banned phrase, it's automatically regenerated once with feedback.
AI Visibility
New
llms.txt: a generated /llms.txt in the llmstxt.org format, built from your SEO meta descriptions (excerpts as a fallback) and ordered by Search Console clicks when connected. Noindexed, password-protected and excluded pages are skipped; it's cached for 12 hours and refreshed when a post is saved.
New
llms.txt settings for the site summary, included post types, items per section and excluded IDs, with a warning if a physical llms.txt file would override the generated one.
New
AI crawler log: visits from 18 AI crawlers and assistants (OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, DuckDuckGo, Mistral, Cohere, ByteDance and Common Crawl), grouped as model training, AI search indexing or live user fetches. Daily totals per crawler and page are kept for 180 days; no visitor data is stored.
New
AI crawler report: totals by crawler and purpose, plus the most-fetched pages over the last 30 days.
AI agents
New
New get-ai-crawler-activity ability.
Improved
get-seo-guidelines now returns your brand rules and the title limit before the suffix.
Improved
update-seo-meta and update-term-seo-meta warn about banned phrases and miscapitalised brand terms, and dry runs show the title exactly as it will be saved, suffix included.

New filters: snippetsense_prompt, snippetsense_generated_meta, snippetsense_before_write_meta, snippetsense_meta_warnings, snippetsense_seo_guidelines, snippetsense_ability_definitions, snippetsense_ai_bots and snippetsense_llms_txt. New table: wp_snippetsense_ai_crawls.
Google Search Console
New
New Search Console tab. Connect with a Google service account JSON key — signed in-plugin with no Google library needed; only the required fields are stored (autoload off) and the key is never shown back.
New
Google Site Kit bridge: reuses an existing Site Kit Search Console connection with no setup, running queries as the Site Kit module owner so scheduled syncs work. The source is chosen automatically, or you can force either one.
New
Setup help: properties are listed and auto-matched to your domain (domain properties preferred), with a Test connection button and errors that explain the fix.
New
Weekly snapshots of 28-day page performance, with 18 months of history and a Sync now button.
New
CTR opportunities: pages in the top 20 getting fewer clicks than typical for their position, ranked by estimated missed clicks.
New
Rewrite with AI: uses the page's top search queries, current CTR and current meta to write a better title and description, which you can edit before applying.
New
Meta change impact: compares CTR, clicks per day and position for the 28 days before a change with up to 28 days after (at least 7 days needed).
New
Meta change tracking: every title or description change made through Snippet Sense records a timestamp and the last 5 previous versions.
AI agents
New
New abilities get-search-performance, find-ctr-opportunities and measure-meta-impact (available when Search Console is connected).
Developer
Dev
New filters snippetsense_meta_prompt and snippetsense_expected_ctr_curve; new table wp_snippetsense_gsc_pages; new post meta _snippetsense_meta_changed_at and _snippetsense_meta_history; new weekly cron event snippetsense_gsc_snapshot (cleared on deactivation). Search Console features require an active licence; connection settings don't.
AI agents (MCP)
New
AI agent support through the WordPress Abilities API: 10 abilities for assistants connected through the WordPress MCP Adapter (WordPress 6.9+).
New
Read: get-seo-guidelines, get-seo-meta (up to 50 posts or terms) and audit-seo. Write, with no AI cost: update-seo-meta, update-term-seo-meta, update-image-alt and set-schema. Generate, using your API key: generate-seo-meta, generate-image-alt and generate-schema.
New
Writes go into the correct fields for Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework and Slim SEO, return previous values for easy reverting, and support dry runs. Agents have the same permissions as the user they connect as.
New
New “AI Agents (MCP)” setting to expose or hide the abilities (on by default). Write and generate abilities require an active licence.
AI models
Improved
OpenAI: GPT-5.6 Luna (default), Terra and Sol, GPT-5.4 Mini, and GPT-4.1 Mini as legacy. Gemini: 3.7 Flash (default), 3.8 Flash, 3.1 Pro Preview, 3.5 Flash-Lite and 3.1 Flash-Lite. OpenRouter: Claude Sonnet 5.5 (default), Haiku 4.5 and Opus 5.5, GPT-5.6 Luna and Terra, Gemini 3.7 Flash and 3.5 Flash-Lite. OpenRouter Llama and DeepSeek removed.
Improved
Retired or retiring models (GPT-4.1 Nano, the original GPT-5 models, Gemini 2.0 Flash and Gemini 2.5) switch automatically to the nearest-priced replacement on upgrade.
Improved
All models now live in one registry that drives the settings, cost estimates and labels. Image sizes are labelled by aspect ratio.
Fixes
Fix
GPT-5.x models returned empty results; they now receive the correct token and reasoning parameters.
Fix
Gemini 3 models could return cut-off JSON or include internal reasoning in the output.
Fix
OpenRouter reasoning models (e.g. Claude Sonnet 5.5) now get low reasoning effort and enough token headroom.
Fix
Gemini image generation works again using Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, with portrait and landscape aspect ratios.
Fix
OpenAI image generation moved from gpt-image-1 (shutting down 23 October 2026) to GPT Image 2.5 Flare; portrait and landscape now use supported sizes, and reference images work at every size.
Fix
Image style analysis now uses your selected model instead of a hardcoded one, and OpenAI cost estimates now include output tokens.

AI agents (MCP)
New
Link Sense can be managed by AI agents such as Claude through the WordPress Abilities API and MCP Adapter (WordPress 6.9+).
New
10 abilities: list, add, update and delete keywords; get link health; repair links; get link graph; get search opportunities; get page search queries; get keyword impact. All require an administrator, and agents go through Link Sense's rules so duplicate checks, defaults and limits still apply.
New
New “AI Agents (MCP)” settings section showing Abilities API and MCP Adapter status, the MCP endpoint, and an on/off switch.
Google Search Console
New
Connect through Google Site Kit with no extra setup — Link Sense reuses Site Kit's Search Console connection when one is available — or with a Google service account. Your property is detected automatically.
New
New “Connection method” setting: Automatic, Google Site Kit or Service account.
New
Opportunities tab: searches your pages already rank for (positions 4–20 by default) that aren't keywords yet — add a keyword or dismiss each one with one click. Position range and minimum impressions are adjustable.
New
Impact tab: clicks, impressions and average position for each linked page, compared over equal periods before and after its keywords started linking to it.
New
Daily background sync, or on demand with Sync now. The first sync imports 90 days of history.
Link Graph
New
Maps the internal links inside each page's content — editor-written and auto-inserted — ignoring headers, footers, menus, sidebars and automatic post lists. Works with Breakdance, Oxygen, Bricks, classic and block themes.
New
Orphan pages list (pages with no incoming links), each with a suggested anchor — its top search query when Search Console is connected — and one-click “Add keyword”. Utility and noindexed pages are left out.
New
“Most linked pages” report with anchor mix, flagging pages as over-optimised when one anchor dominates.
New
“Index all pages” builds the graph on demand; afterwards pages refresh automatically once a day as visitors view them.
Link Health & self-healing links
New
Keywords remember the page they link to, so if its URL changes, links follow it automatically.
New
Links to draft, private, trashed or deleted pages are skipped instead of pointing at a 404.
New
Link Health tab flagging moved, unpublished, deleted, unverified and old-domain links. Links left on an old domain after a migration can be repaired in one click, per domain or per keyword.
Anchor variety & over-optimisation guards
New
“Links to the same page” (default 1) limits auto-links to the same URL on one page across all keywords.
New
“Anchor variety” (default on) rotates the order of keywords that point at the same page, so anchors vary across the site.
New
“Target coverage” (default 100%) limits the share of pages that may auto-link to any one page. Pages no longer auto-link to themselves.
AI models
Improved
Updated models for OpenAI (GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5.4 Nano, GPT-5.5), Gemini (3.5 Flash-Lite, 3.5 Flash, 3.1 Flash-Lite, 3.1 Pro Preview), Anthropic (Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 5, Opus 5.5) and OpenRouter. Retired models switch to their replacement automatically.
Improved
New “Other model ID…” option so newly released models can be used without a plugin update, plus full support for current reasoning models.
Improved
The Gemini API key is now sent in a request header instead of the URL, so it can't appear in server logs.
Performance
Improved
Front-end linking rewritten: pages are scanned once instead of once per keyword, and absent keywords are skipped instantly — up to 250× faster on large page-builder layouts.
Improved
Keywords load once per page view, and update checks are cached instead of running on every admin page load.
Fixes
Fix
Sites with many keywords or complex layouts could hang or show “Error establishing a database connection”.
Fix
Admin pages could slow down or fail when the licence server was slow or unreachable.
Fix
Prices such as “$10” and some backslash sequences could disappear from pages.
Fix
Database upgrades from older versions could fail to add new columns, and the suggestions table failed to install on MySQL older than 5.6.5.
Fix
Button icons were misaligned with their labels in the admin.
Changed
Changed
With the new “Links to the same page” default, two keywords pointing at the same page now produce one link per page instead of two. Set it to 0 to restore the old behaviour.
Changed
WordPress 6.9+ is required for the AI agent abilities only; everything else works on earlier versions.

Minor bug fix.
